NAQOURA, Lebanon, May 18 (ChinaMil) -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters conferred the Certificate of Appreciation on the multifunctional engineering detachment and the construction detachment of the 16th Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon on May 17, local time, to commend the two detachment's outstanding contributions to maintaining regional peace and stability in the past year.
The Certificate of Appreciation is the highest honor granted by the United Nations peacekeeping missions in the name of force commander to commend individuals or units that have made outstanding contributions to the peace cause.
Chinese peacekeeping detachments have completed all peacekeeping tasks with diligent work and perfect technologies, the UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary said in the order of commendation.
The UNIFIL Force Commander spoke highly of the Chinese peacekeepers by saying that they have demonstrated a high level of professionalism and valuable dedication.
