One of the major principles of the Party's governance is to resolutely pursue a holistic approach to national security and development, enhancing the awareness of potential dangers and being prepared for danger in times of peace.
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has made a strategic plan to modernize the national security system and capability, and resolutely safeguard national security and social stability. The CPC will improve the national security system, strengthen its capacity for safeguarding national security, enhance public safety governance, improve the social governance system, and develop a new security architecture to safeguard China’s new pattern of development.
National security is the foundation of national rejuvenation, and social stability is a prerequisite for building a strong and prosperous China. Since the end of the 18th CPC National Congress, historical achievements have been made in safeguarding national security under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping at its core, realizing historic changes from decentralization to centralization, from slowness to high efficiency, and from passivity to initiative. However, it must be noted that new opportunities and challenges are emerging. We have to struggle in the midstream of "more surging waves ", and halfway up the hill of a "steeper road". We must build a new security architecture to get adapted to the new pattern of development. We must resolutely pursue a holistic approach to national security in key areas, regions and directions, and promote new security architecture to safeguard China’s new pattern of development, with a view to maintaining long-term security and governance.
It is impossible for a country to develop without a strong military. In recent years, we have been equipped with the “20 series” military aircraft in the air and three aircraft carriers on the sea. New steps have been taken in the development of China’s defense and military, these have made us deeply realize that national defense and military development is strong support of national security, and the capability of winning is strategic ability to maintain national security.
A prosperous country must be built with a strong military, because only a strong military can make a country safe and stable. Once the military backwardness comes into being, its impact on national security will be fatal. For the service members, only with real skills and capabilities can they assume great responsibilities, and only with real skills and capabilities can they fight and win. On the new journey, there will be more risks and challenges to encounter. Only by adhering to the bottom line thinking, enhancing the awareness of potential dangers, and getting well-trained to acquire the ability to win wars, can the military truly fulfill our responsibility and mission.
