BEIJING, Aug. 26 -- The hasty withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan recently has delivered a major impact on the situation in Afghanistan. It's proven that problems cannot be solved through power politics and military means, which, instead, will trigger more problems and disarrange the situation, said a defense spokesperson on Thursday.
Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks when commenting on the situation change in Afghanistan.
"At, present, the situation in Afghanistan has undergone huge changes," Tan pointed out. "China always respects the sovereign independence and territorial integrity of Afghanistan, adheres to non-interference in its internal affairs, and always pursues a friendly policy toward all the Afghan people."
China respects the right of the Afghan people to independently determine their own future, and is willing to continue to develop good-neighborly and friendly relationship of cooperation with Afghanistan and play a constructive role in the peace and reconstruction of Afghanistan, added Tan.
