BEIJING, Oct. 9 -- An army aviation brigade under the PLA 81st Group Army recently organized its first combat training exercise off China's southeast coast. More than ten helicopters of different types took off from an inland airport and headed in combat formation toward the target airspace hundreds of kilometers away. With training subjects such as island takeoff/landing and air defense penetration being practiced, the exercise has enhanced the brigade's capability of accomplishing missions on the sea.
