BEIJING, Feb. 21 -- The new-generation barracks of the Chinese PLA Army debuted on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau recently.
The new-generation barracks feature combat readiness and rapid deployment capabilities. They can meet multiple needs and accommodate troops of different arms at one time.
The combat training function has been strengthened in the new barracks too. With 14 specialized indoor training rooms and dozens of outdoor training grounds, they can house more than 100 training courses at the same time, so the service members can practice all the individual training subjects within the barracks.
Since 2018, the Military Facilities Construction Bureau under the PLA Logistic Support Department has selected 16 units with different roles from the whole military as pilot users. As for now, the first batch of new barracks has completed construction and come into use.
