The conflict between Palestine and Israel has been escalating in recent days, and it is urgent to cease fire and stop the violence. The bloody tragedy once again tells people that only a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian question can the Middle East truly achieve lasting peace and universal security. While all parties are trying to cool down the situation, the facts once again make it clear that the US's unjust Middle East policy is an important reason why the Palestinian question has not been fairly resolved for a long time.
近日，巴以冲突不断升级，停火止暴刻不容缓。流血悲剧再次告诉人们，只有全面、公正、持久地解决巴勒斯坦问题，中东地区才能真正实现持久和平和普遍安全。在各方推动局势降温的同时，事实再次昭示，美国不公正的中东政策，是巴勒斯坦问题长期得不到公正解决的重要原因。
This round of conflict is the largest between Palestine and Israel since 2014. In the past eight days,about 200 Palestinians were killed in the conflict, and half of them were women and childrenIn addition, about 1,300 people were injured. As for theIsraeli side, ten people were killed, and hundreds were injured.
这轮冲突是2014年以来巴以之间最大规模的冲突。过去短短8天中，约有200名巴勒斯坦人在冲突中丧生，其中约半数是妇女和儿童，此外有约1300人受伤；以色列一方也有10人死亡，上百人受伤。
Over the past 70 years, Palestine and Israel have fallen into a violent cycle of retaliation and counter-retaliation, and bloody conflicts have continued. The situation in the Middle East has generally tended to ease for a period of time, and the number of large-scale bloody conflicts between Palestine and Israel has remained small. This sudden outbreak of conflicts may be surprising, but it is inherently inevitable.
过去70余年里，巴以双方深陷报复与反报复的暴力循环，流血冲突不断。一段时间以来，中东局势总体趋向缓和，巴以大规模流血冲突相对较少，此次突然爆发可能令人意外，实则有内在的必然性。
The Palestinian question has never been fairly resolved. Especially in recent years, the Middle East peace process has deviated from its original track, and UN resolutions have not been effectively implemented. In particular, the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state has been continuously violated, and the plight of the Palestinian people has further deepened.
巴勒斯坦问题从未得到公正的解决。特别是近年来，中东和平进程偏离原有轨道，联合国决议没有得到切实执行，尤其是巴勒斯坦独立建国权利受到持续侵害，巴勒斯坦人民的困境进一步加深。
The continued Israeli-Palestinian conflict has profound and complicated historical, religious and ethnic reasons. However, at the geopolitical level, the long-standing, unjust US Middle East policy has been criticized by the international community.
巴以冲突持续不断，有其深刻而复杂的历史、宗教和民族原因。但在地缘政治层面，美国长期奉行的不公正的中东政策，一直受到国际社会的诟病。
During the Trump administration, the US moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The US also recognized the legal status of Jewish settlements and launched the so-called Middle East Peace Plan, which was cleverly packaged but actually subverted the basic principles of the two-state solution. The US closed the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington, cut all funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Each and every one of these acts seriously harms the interests of the Palestinians.
远的不说，在特朗普政府任期内，美国将驻以使馆迁至耶路撒冷，承认耶路撒冷为以色列首都，承认犹太定居点合法地位，推出所谓“中东和平新计划”，通过巧妙包装但实则是颠覆“两国方案”基本原则，关闭巴解组织驻美代表处，停止对联合国近东难民救济和工程处的捐助……一桩桩，一件件，无一不严重损害巴勒斯坦人的利益。
The Biden administration has always claimed to make adjustments to the practices of its predecessor since taking office; however, he has not taken any actions. After the outbreak of this round of conflict, the Biden administration emphasized that Israel has the right to self-defense. The US became the only country in the UN Security Council that vetoed a joint Palestinian-Israeli ceasefire statement. This not only made the Palestinians in distress angry and disappointed but also drew a lot of criticism within the US and its allies. Le Monde, France’s pre-eminent daily, newspaper pointed out in an editorial that the US government "has no intention of trying to resolve the conflict."
拜登政府自上台后，一直声称要对前任的做法作出调整，但口惠而实不至。此轮冲突爆发后，拜登政府强调以色列拥有“自卫权”，并成为安理会中唯一一个否决敦促巴以停火联合声明的国家，这不仅令处在危难中的巴勒斯坦人感到愤怒和失望，也在美国国内和美国的盟友中遭到很多批评。法国《世界报》在社论中指出，美国政府“丝毫没有想要解决冲突的意思”。
In this round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it can be seen that the US government continued its partiality over the Palestine-Israel issue and even openly approved the export of precision-guided weapons worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Israel when civilians, including women and children, were killed and injured. Turkish President RecepTayyip Erdogan said: "You are writing history with your bloody hands."
在这轮巴以冲突中，可以看到，当包括妇孺在内的平民死伤累累时，美国政府不仅依然“拉偏架”，甚至公然批准向以色列出口价值高达数亿美元的精确制导武器。土耳其总统埃尔多安说：“美国是在用沾满鲜血的手书写历史。”
The famous Syrian poet and philosopher Adonis once said that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a metaphor of an era that has condensed human hatred and bigotry, parochialism and selfishness. These words are very thought-provoking.
叙利亚著名诗人、思想家阿多尼斯曾说，巴以冲突是浓缩了人类的仇恨与偏执、狭隘与自私的时代之隐喻。这番话，发人深省。
Only fairness and justice and the consideration of the interests of all parties can reach a plan that is acceptable to all parties on the Palestine-Israel issue. If the Palestinian question is not resolved justly from its root causes, the cycle of returning violence with violence will continue.
在巴以问题上，只有公平公道，兼顾各方利益，才能达成各方都接受的方案。巴勒斯坦问题如果不从根源上得到公正的解决，以暴易暴的死循环依然会持续下去。
