BEIJING, Dec. 11 -- The 11th China-EU defense and security policy dialogue was held via video link on December 10. The dialogue was co-chaired by heads of the Office for International Military Cooperation of China’s Central Military Commission and the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy and Crisis Response at the European External Action Service.
The Chinese side said that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-EU diplomatic ties. The defense and security cooperation between the two sides is an important component of China-EU relation. The two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in such areas as policy dialogue, UN peacekeeping missions, and international escort tasks over recent years. China supports the EU’s efforts for more strategic independence and stands ready to work with the European side to further expand the friendly cooperation in defense and security and continuously enrich their comprehensive strategic partnership.
