BEIJING, Oct,29 -- Senior Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of China, reiterated the warning towards the secessionist forces who wanted to seek so-called “Taiwan independence” with force when commenting on the PLA's recent moves near Taiwan at a regular MND press conference in Beijing on October 29, 2020.

It is reported by the media recently that the J-20 stealth fighter has been spotted at an airport 500 kilometers away from Taiwan, and the Dongfeng-17 hypersonic missiles have been deployed along the southeast coast. Some media called them"the new moves by the PLA targeting the 'Taiwan independence' forces".

In response, Snr. Col. Wu stated that the specific deployment of weapons and equipment involves military secrets and he has no information to release. What he can tell is that the Chinese PLA has always been able and determined to defend the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and defeat any form of separatist attempts for “Taiwan independence”.

"Here, I want to warn those ’Taiwan independence’ secessionist forces that there is no way out for confrontation, and seeking ’Taiwan independence’ with force is a dead–end road. Don’t ever try to kick against the pricks," he stressed.
