SEOUL, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating fell this week after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) missile test-launches, a weekly poll showed Thursday.

According to the Realmeter survey, support for Moon dipped 3.1 percentage points over the week to 49.0 percent this week.

The negative assessment on Moon's management of state affairs gained 3.3 percentage points to 47.0 percent.

The results were based on a poll of 1,508 voters conducted from Monday to Wednesday. It had plus or minus 2.5 percentage points in the margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.

Moon's support scores had turned upward following Japan's export curbs, which led people here to be united amid the growing public sentiment against Japan.

However, the DPRK's missile test-firings twice in a week had a negative impact on Moon's approval rating.

The DPRK fired two short-range missiles, which Pyongyang called a newly-developed "large-caliber multiple launch guided rocket system," off its east coast on Tuesday.

It came less than a week after the DPRK's launch of two short-range missiles that were fired off the eastern coast.

Support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party shed 2.5 percentage points over the week to 40.7 percent this week.

The main conservative opposition Liberty Korea Party won 29.5 percent of support, up 2.8 percentage points from a week earlier.

The minor progressive Justice Party gained 6.1 percent of support, followed by the minor conservative Bareun Future Party with 5.5 percent and the center-left Party for Democracy and Peace with 2.4 percent each.
