CHANGZHI, Apr. 4 (ChinaMil) -- A forest fire broke out in Qinyuan county, northern China’s Shanxi Province on March 29. The firefighting operation is still under way. In order to effectively compress the space of the fire, a firebreak, about eight kilometers long and nearly one kilometer wide, was opened in Ruzhuang Village of Chishiqiao Township in the northern section of the fire field on Tuesday afternoon. No casualties were reported in the fire.

The Chinese PLA Central Theater Command sent more troops to Qinyuan county in order to help local fire departments to bring the fire under control. The PLA officers and soldiers participating in the rescue have been fighting in the front line over the past few days. The following pictures showed how PLA officers and soldiers battled the fire.
