The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Saturday strongly opposed Indian PM Modi's visit to the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh."

The Foreign Ministry has reiterated that the Chinese government has never recognized the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh" and is firmly opposed to the Indian leader's visit to the area.

The ministry also expressed its hopes that India will cherish the momentum of warming bilateral ties and not take any provocative actions.

China's stance on the border issue is always clear and consistent and never recognized the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh."

Noted at previous news briefings, the ministry believed China and India can handle various border affairs through a relevant mechanism as the pair has established a mature management mechanism for border-related issues.

Upholding peace and tranquility in China-India border areas serves the common interests of both sides, the ministry added.
