The medical detachment of the 17th Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon was invited to participate in the conference and demonstrated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for the first time in the UNIFIL Military Medical Exchange Lecture Hall.

The SMOs Conference is organized by the UNIFIL Medical Office on a quarterly basis. The conference aims to clarify the deployment of medical institutions in the UNIFIL mission area, the authorized strength of medical personnel from each troop-contributing country, and the requirements for medical transfer procedures. Military medical issues, including the effective injury prevention, fast treatment, and emergency medical services, were also discussed during the conference.

Based on actual operations, the Chinese medical personnel introduced the efficacy of TCM in the treatment of some common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases.
