LEBANON,Dec. 24 (ChinaMil) -- The medical detachment of the 17th Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon and the medical detachment of the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) peacekeeping force held in-depth discussions and exchanges on treatment of the wounded and the sick, along with medical service work based on actual combat needs on December 21,2018.

More than 20 personnel from both sides took part in discussions on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, site treatment and medical evacuation, and exchanged their own medical work experience.

Luo Maohua, commander of the Chinese medical detachment, said that the team members’ capability to respond to complex health duties has been effectively enhanced through constant medical exchanges, seminars and medical rescue exercises with their foreign counterparts. Such activities have also helped them understand and learn the processing procedures and operational standards of foreign military medical services.

Luo also stressed that the Chinese medical detachment will continue to increase the exploration and training of injury prevention and emergency treatment in the context of actual combat, and further improve the quality of medical services and work standards, so as to contribute more to peace and stability in southern Lebanon.

A senior medical officer of the ROK’s medical detachment said that Chinese military medical personnel have rich experience in dealing with various injuries and situations, adding that they are honored to be able to discuss and learn from the professional Chinese medical team. “It’s really very beneficial. This experience can significantly help to improve my personal professional level and the service and support capability of our team. I want to express my gratitude to the Chinese medical personnel for the generous professional sharing of knowledge,” said the ROK’s medical officer.

It is reported that since its deployment to the mission area in Lebanon in May, the 17th Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment has successfully completed many medical rescue tasks, and has won high praise and wide recognition from foreign peacekeepers and the local people.
