Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe on Wednesday met in Beijing with Kim Hyong Ryong, the vice minister of the People's Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Ng Eng Hen, Singapore defense minister, and Mohamad Sabu, Malaysia's defense minister, who are all in China to attend the 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with the DPRK's leader Kim Jong Un three times this year, opening a new chapter in the development of China-DPRK relations, Wei told Kim Hyong Ryong.

China appreciates the positive measures taken by the DPRK to promote denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and supports its efforts to ease the situation, Wei said, adding that the two sides should continue to make positive contributions to the development of bilateral military relations and regional peace and stability.

Kim Hyong Ryong responded that the DPRK is willing to push forward the bilateral military relationship between the two nations.
