Japanese defense minister visits India

NEW DELHI, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera Monday called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, officials here said.

Onodera arrived in New Delhi on Sunday on a two-day visit.

Onodera also held talks with his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman covering a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interests.

The visiting delegation led by Onodera also discussed bilateral defense cooperation with the Indian side to enhance strategic ties.
