QUANZHOU, Aug. 1 (ChinaMil) -- Four Chinese naval ships opened to the participants and the public during the first day of the “Seaborne Assault” competition of the International Army Games (IAG) 2018 at Shihu Port in Shishi city, Quanzhou , southeast China’s Fujian province on Monday.

Ships opened to the public include the dock landing ship Jinggangshan (Hull 999) attached to the South China Sea Fleet under the PLA Navy, and the guided-missile destroyer Changchun (Hull 150), the corvette Quanzhou (Hull 588) and the tank landing ship Wuyishan (Hull 914) attached to the East China Sea Fleet under the PLA Navy.

It is the first time for the PLA Navy to open so many naval ships for public tours in the same place. The Open Day activities will last for three days.

The destroyer Changchun, honored as the “Chinese Shield,” is a new guided-missile destroyer designed and made by China. The amphibious dock landing ship Jinggangshan has one of the heaviest displacements among its kind in the Chinese Navy's dock landing ships. And it is the first time for the corvette, named after Quanzhou, to return to its hometown and open to the public.

Foreign naval participants of the “Seaborne Assault” competition also visited the four ships.
