China to host four contests of International Army Games - 2018

BEIJING, June 15 (ChinaMil) — The International Army Games - 2018 (IAG-2018) will be held in seven countries including China, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan from July 28 to August 11, 2018.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will host four contests, namely the “Suvorov Attack” contest among Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) crews, “Clear Sky” contest among air defense missile units, “Safe Route” contest among engineering troops, and the “Seaborne Assault” contest among Marine Corps.

Currently, eight military teams from China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Iran, Zimbabwe and Venezuela have signed up for the “Suvorov Attack” contest and Armenia will send delegates to observe. This contest will be held in Korla, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. China will send troops of the PLA Xinjiang Military Command to participate. The contest will be composed of individual race and relay race, and the results will be comprehensively counted by summing up the scores in such items as speed racing, obstacle crossing, wading and firing.

Seven military teams from China, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Egypt and Venezuela have currently signed up for the “Clear Sky” contest. The contest will also take place in Korla. The PLA Xinjiang Military Command will send troops to participate. And the contest will be comprised of "Mastery" race, "Interaction" race and "Combined" race and even include live-fire shooting of air defense missiles.

Four military teams from China, Russia, Pakistan and Uzbekistan have now registered for the “Safe Route” contest. The contest will also take place in Korla. Troops from the army of the PLA Southern Theater Command will participate. The contest will be conducted in forms of single and relay races and the results will be evaluated comprehensively by summing up the scores in such items as mine clearance, assemblage of the mechanized bridge, removing of anti-tank hedgehogs and so forth.

Four military teams from China, Russia, Venezuela and Iran have registered for the “Seaborne Assault” contest. The contest will take place in Quanzhou, southeast China’s Fujian Province. The PLA Navy’s Marine Corps will participate. The contest will be carried out in three phases including the obstacle course, survival trail and relay race and will include such contents as obstacle driving, vehicle-mounted artillery shooting and coaxial machine gun shooting.
