Seven Chinese peacekeepers returned from South Sudan Tuesday after successfully finishing a one-year mission.

The sixth team of Chinese peacekeeping police to South Sudan, with members all selected from east China's Zhejiang Province, arrived at the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport Tuesday evening, according to the public security department of Zhejiang.

In South Sudan, the police officers fulfilled a variety of tasks in the capital Juba and Wau, including patrols of refugee camps, humanitarian aid and community-based police services, said a statement from the department.

Thanks to their outstanding performance, the team earned a medal from the United Nations in November 2017.
