China's first helicopter peacekeeping detachment prepares to leave for Sudan

BEIJING, May 19 (ChinaMil) -- China's first helicopter peacekeeping detachment held a departure ceremony at an army aviation brigade of the PLA 81st Group Army in Beijing on May 19, 2017.

The detachment, consisting of 140 troops and 4 Mi-171 medium multi-purpose helicopters, will soon be sent to and deployed in the Darfur region of Sudan for carrying out such UN peacekeeping missions as air patrol, transportation of personnel and materials and so forth.
