China wins championship at 9th Annual Warrior Competition

AMMAN, May 8 (ChinaMil) -- The five-day 9th Annual Warrior Competition came to an end at the King Abdullah II Special Operation Training Center (KASOTC) in Amman, Jordan, on May 4. The Sky Sword Unit of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force won the group champion and China’s Falcon Commando Unit won the third place at the competition.

The competition kicked off on April 30. A total of 32 teams from 17 countries including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, the US, Czech, China, Portugal and South Africa competed in 8 events including "Block assault", "Hostage rescue", "Cross-country shooting", "King’s challenge" and other subjects.

There were 7 members of China’s two participating teams. The team from the Sky Sword Unit won champions in three subjects including the "King’s challenge". The unit also won a second place and a third place. The team from Falcon Commando Unit won one single championship, one second place and one third place.

In 2013 and 2014, the Snow Leopard Commando Unit of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force won the championship in the Annual Warrior Competition. China’s Commando Unit became the runner-up in 2015 and the special operations group of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force in Sichuan won the runner-up in 2014.
