Guided missile destroyer Harbin leaves Port of Salalah

SALALAH, September 12 (ChinaMil) -- The guided missile destroyer Harbin (Hull Number 112) of the 24th Chinese naval escort taskforce wrapped up its four-day rest and recuperation and left the Port of Salalah in Oman to continue its escort tasks on the afternoon of September 9, local time.

According to plan, later, the other two ships of the 24th Chinese naval escort taskforce, namely the guided missile frigate Handan (Hull Number 579) and the comprehensive supply ship Dongpinghu (Hull Number 960 ), will take turns for port rest and recuperation.

Before leaving the port, Yu Tao, captain of the guided missile destroyer Harbin, invited a captain of a Maestrale-class frigate of the Italian Navy assigned to the European Combined Task Force 465, and his party on board for tour.

The two sides held a captain-level meeting and exchanged opinions on anti-piracy information exchange, anti-piracy coordination procedure, pirate identification method and related treatment measures.
