An air force missile brigade conducted a drill with demobilized servicemen in reserve forces to sharpen their combat readiness in case of a major personnel reduction, according to an official release on Wednesday.
Nearly 100 veterans who have been discharged from the brigade in the past five years attended the drill.
The intention is for ex-servicemen to be able to perform various air defense tasks after ten days of training.
Deng Xiao, political commissar of the brigade, said the troops hold variety of technical posts with high requirements of technical know-how, therefore reserve forces must be ready to replenish depleted force.
The military and technical capacity of these reservists is crucial to the combat capability of troops, Deng said.
