China's first manned space flight was successfully completed, thus realizing the one-thousand-year-old dream of flying to space. The successful launch and retrieval of Shenzhou V was another great feat and milestone of China on its path of scaling technological peaks after the successes of China's first atom bomb (1964), hydrogen bomb (1967) and man-made satellite (1970). Shenzhou V will go down in the glorious history of the People's Republic of China.

　　The success of the space flight not only reflects the advantages of China's socialist system in being able to pool together resources to achieve major feats, but also shows the daring spirit and virtues of the Chinese people. Chinese space workers always remember the great trust of the Party and the people and solve numerous difficulties in their space programs. It is also a result of implementing the important thoughts of "Three Represents" and one more great achievement of the reform and opening-up policy and modernization drive.

　　The manned space flight has shown the world that China has become the third country capable of sending humans into space. Only with stable political conditions, robust economy, advancing technology and growing comprehensive national power can we achieve such as a success, which is a demonstration of the vitality of China's socialism.

　　Moreover, the success of the manned space flight is a clarion. It not only boosts the spirits of the Chinese people, but also beefs up the power of the PLA. It will stimulate the sense of pride and coherence of the Chinese nation and make us work harder for a well-off society. The PLA will also find great encouragement and determination to pursue leaping strides in military changes with Chinese characteristics.

　　China's manned space flight program is grand , complicated and difficult. A great success could only be accomplished in such a short time under the strong leadership of the CPC. The space program was a major strategic decision made by the third-generation leadership of the CPC with Comrade Jiang Zemin as the core.

　　The success again tells the world that the Chinese nation has the will and ability to scale world technology peaks and stand, as one of the best, on its own efforts in the world. The development of China's manned space flight programs is an innovative history of keeping pace with the times.

Thought we have a long way to go before we can achieve our aims, we believe that under the strong leadership of the CPC with Comrade Hu Jintao as general secretary and with the guidance of Deng Xiaoping theory and the important thought of "Three Represents", a united Chinese nation will be able to acomoplish even more successes not just in space programs but also in the entire technological field.
