Station runs 14 international satellites
¡¡¡¡
¡¡¡¡The Beijing Maritime Satellite
Telemetry and Control (T&C) Station has successfully
completed its long-term task of telemetry,
control and management of 14 international
satellites as of April 18, 2003, which, according
to a station official, marks an upgrade in
China's maritime satellite management ability.
¡¡¡¡The station is among INMARSAT
Corp's four major T&C stations in its global
network and has been in charge of T&C services
and the management of the first-, second-
and third-generation international maritime
satellite over the Indian and Pacific oceans.
T&C data of maritime satellites is recorded
by the station and transmitted to the data
center in London. Meanwhile, the station receives
corresponding instructions from the center
and sends these instructions to the chronically
tracked satellites.
¡¡¡¡The station has been strictly
adhering to the international standards of
the T&C technique since it won the bid in
1998 for tasking maritime satellite management,
and has successfully carried out three major
structural expansions and technical renovations
before finally being integrated into the international
space T&C system. The station has also developed
some key software, which includes a microwave
channel auto telemetry system, a T&C telecom
automatic monitor system and a simulated training
system for the T&C station, etc.. The development
of these software displays to the world that
China has possessed advanced technology and
excellent management in the space telemetry
and control field.
