Oct, 15, blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwestern Gansu province at 9:09:50am, China's first manned spacecraft, the Shenzhou-5, entered into the preset orbit. Thus, the first Chinese astronaut was successfully sent into space.
