　 　A military research institute of the PLA has devised a safety system for severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) pathological research.

　　Developed by the Anti-Chemical Institute of the PLA's General Armaments Department, this safety system adopted a comprehensive means in protecting researchers through operation in dividing sections, disinfection by decontamination, air treatment of purification and separating personnel from medical gear.

　　The system can ensure the safety of medical personnel to perform autopsies on SARS patients, while preventing the contamination of air and the environment.

　　The system has been certified by experts from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Technology.The experts said that it is a step forward from individual protection to collective protection.
