Medical information
provided for doctors fighting against SARS
PLA Daily 2003-05-30
A medical information station made its debut
Thursday in Beijing's suburban Changping District to provide doctors
and nurses from the Xiaotangshan Hospital with medical updates
from around the world.
The station, which includes 20 databases, 30,000
electronic books and around 10,000 medical journals, was established
by the Medical Library of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
The medical personnel, who are on their holidays by turns after
a period of intense work in the Xiaotangshan Hospital, can access
to those materials free.
The Xiaotangshan Hospital, erected in Changping
in response to the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak,
was staffed by military personnel from around the country.
