　　Senior officials from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) visited the Xiaotangshan Hospital May 14 to extend warm regards to the military medical staff fighting SARS in the hospital.

　　The senior officials included Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Central Military Committee and director of the PLA General Political Department; Yuan Shoufang, deputy director of the PLA General Political Department and Zhang Wentai, political commissar of the PLA General Logistics Department.

　　Xu, on behalf of the General Political Department, extended cordial greetings and paid high tributes to the military medical staff and encouraged them to carry forward the fine tradition of the army in the fight against SARS so as to render new meritorious service to the people.

　　While meeting with the hospital's leaders, Xu said that the military decided to support Beijing Municipality to set up this hospital to combat SARS. It is a concrete action of our army to implement the important thought of the "Three Represents" and practice the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly. At this critical moment when the whole country are going all out to fight SARS, military medical staff must overcome various difficulties to stand in the forefront of this battle in disregard of personal safety.

　　Xu encouraged the military medical staff to care for each other, pay attention to self-protection and strike a proper balance between work and rest so as to achieve the final victory in beating the epidemic disease.

　　Before the meeting, Xu, accompanied by the hospital director, visited a sand model of the hospital and the command and control center, and presented the hospital with consolation money, books and recreational and physical-fitness facilities.
