A woman researcher works in the Laboratory
for the Detection of SARS in Food, Animal and Plants and Their
Derived Products affiliated to the China Import and Export Commodities
Test Technology Research Institute, under the State Administration
of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China in
Beijing, May 13. The institution has developed a kind of new technology,
the first in the world, which can quickly and accurately detect
the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus in food, animals,
plants and other products. The technology has passed a technical
