A medical team of the PLA set off for peacekeeping
task
35 officers and men of the Fuzhou General Hospital of the PLA
Nanjing Military Area Command to carry out peacekeeping task in
Liberia left Fuzhou International Airport at around 4:00 p.m. yesterday
afternoon.
This medical team of peace-keeping troops consists of surgeons,
physicians, dentists and anesthetists as well as chemists, examiners,
radiographers, intensive care nurses, operation nurses, medical
orderly, drivers, communication technicians and chef. Among them,
there are 3 Ph.Ds and 5 masters. The oldest is 43 year old and the
youngest 22 year old. What draws people's attention specially is
that there are 8 valiant female servicepersons.
The main task of the medical team of the peacekeeping troops
is to provide medical support for officers and men of the peacekeeping
troops of the United Nations and to provide emergency treatment
for local people.
