es held in Moscow. Central Asia is also at the risk of being torn apart by the joining forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism. Unchecked terrorism challenges human civilization and dignity and poses a grim threat to world peace and development. China, as a victim of terrorism who takes an active part in international anti-terrorism activities, proposed to other SCO members the multi-lateral military exercise within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. SCO troops launched military maneuvers that involved commanding at the Joint Commanding Center and actions with live ammunitions. The maneuvers included intercepting and forcing a terrorist plane to land, besieging and eliminating cross-border armed criminals, and rescuing hostages held in a town by terrorists. Coalition 2003 explored ways and modes of multinational fighting against terrorism.

　　Coalition 2003, of course, was characterized by a coalition of different countries that have stakes in regional security and stability. He says that terrorists often receive training and plan their actions in one country and then sneak into another to carry out their plans. Terrorists also cooperate with each other to make waves around the world and fight worldwide governments. Our acquired lesson in fighting terrorism in Central Asia and other places of the world is that we must join together and the efforts of one individual country are far from being enough to contain terrorism. Coalition 2003 was an experiment in uniting against terrorism. Though encountered by many problems including language barriers, different ideas of anti-terrorism fighting and exercises in a new, unfamiliar country, the five members of the SCO taking part in the Coalition 2003 did a good job by serious and honest cooperation and coordination. Commanders from different countries shared information and intelligence about international terrorists, analyzed the general and local situations, proposed plans, made joint decisions and coordinated their efforts. In real bullet exercises, troops wearing different uniforms performed extremely well by joining together to charge at and attack terrorists and rescue hostages. Coalition 2003 not only increased the friendship and confidence between the SCO members, but also served as base for future multinational anti-terrorism actions.

　　He adds finally that Coalition 2003 made great contribution to regional and international cause of fighting terrorism and peace-loving countries and people around the world recognized the efforts of the SCO. It not only built up international forces against terrorism and strengthened determination and resolution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization members in their just cause, but also formed a powerful military pressure on terrorism, separatism and extremism.
