BEIJING, March 16 (ChinaMil) -- PLA deputies have jointly submitted 5 bills and 187 proposals to the 4th Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) until the specified deadline, according to sources.

These bills and proposals cover aspects including legislation for protection of service members' rights, civil-military integration, technological innovation and targeted approaches to alleviating poverty.

PLA NPC deputy Sun Sijing, political commissar of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, along with other 30 NPC deputies, jointly submitted a bill on the revision of Law of the People's Republic of China on the People's Armed Police Force targeting major issues such as the commanding structure and armed forces construction.

PLA NPC deputy Cui Yuling, senior engineer at the former Nanjing Military Area Command (MAC), submitted a bill on formulating Law on Military Operations Other Than War after nine years of research.

Based on concerns on the redirection of the development trend and the adjustment of leaderships, PLA NPC deputy Angwang Suonan, deputy commander of Qinghai Provincial Military Area (PMA), submitted a bill on the revision of Military Service Law of the People's Republic of China along with other 37 NPC deputies. This demonstrates a high degree of political responsibility of the PLA deputies.

PLA NPC deputy Wang Jinyu, former commander of Hubei PMA, spent more than two years trying to resolve the issue on delayed protection of rights and interests of service members and their relatives and finally submitted a bill on the formulation of the law on protection of rights and interests of service members and their relatives.

PLA NPC deputy Liang Xiaojing, political commissar of a unit with the PLA Rocket Force, submitted a bill on the formulation of the law on protection of service members' rights and interests for the third consecutive year.

This demonstrates the sense of mission of the PLA deputies in conscientiously performing their duties as well as safeguarding and protecting soldiers' legitimate rights and interests.

Relevant special committees of the NPC will deliberate these bills and submit reports on the results of deliberation to the NPC Presidium. Once reviewed and approved by the NPC Presidium, the reports will be printed and distributed to the 5th Session of the 12th NPC.
