Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou, members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission, met yesterday afternoon with military athletes, coaches and other personnel participating in the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, during which Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou extended warm congratulations to the athletes and coaches who made outstanding achievements at the games and extended cordial regards to all the personnel participating in the competitions and working staff who worked hard in obscurity for the success of the games.

　　Members of the Central Military Commission Chen Bingde, Li Jinai, Liao Xilong, Chang Wanquan, Jing Zhiyuan, Wu Shengli and Xu Qiliang joined in meeting with the athletes, coaches and other personnel.

　　Guo Boxiong said that the 29th Olympic Games held in Beijing achieved world-stunning success. At this high-level international sports meet, the PLA athletes totally pocketed seven gold, five silver and five bronze medals, one athlete shattered a world record, and another athlete broke two Olympic records.

　　The PLA athletes created new brilliant achievements for PLA's athletic sports and made due contributions to hosting a unique and high-level Olympic Games, said Guo in his speech
