Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and
vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the officers and men
who will take part in the performance at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics
on behalf of Chairman Hu Jintao and the Central Military Commission on August
22, during which he extended warm regards to the officers and men and urged them
to earnestly carry out the important instruction of Chairman Hu Jintao and
fulfill various support-Paralympic tasks according to high standard, and do
their bit to make the Paralympics as splendid as the Beijing Olympic Games.
Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the
General Logistics Department of the PLA, accompanied Xu Caihou to visit the
support-Paralympic troops.
Xu Caihou went to the barracks of the troops under the General Logistics
Department and the Beijing Military Area Command, who will take part in the
performance at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics and watched their
rehearsal training. Xu Caihou noted that the opening ceremony has always been an
important part of the Olympics and the Paralympics. The opening ceremony of the
Beijing Olympic Games on August 8 was splendid, it was a great success and won
wide acclaim at home and from abroad. The officers and men who took part in the
performance of the opening ceremony of the Olympics had made positive
contributions to it. He expressed the hope that all the officers and men would
continue to work conscientiously and whole-heartedly on the basis of their
previous work, and go all out to seize the final victory of the support-Olympic
and support-Paralympic mission.
The related leaders from the General Political Department and the General
Logistics Department of the PLA, the Beijing Military Area Command and the
General Office of the Central Military Commission also visited the
support-Paralympic troops along with Xu Caihou.
