On the evening of August 12, a fleet of vehicles from the "Red Army First
Division" of the Beijing Military Area Command arrived in Beijing. Like the
"star-men" performance troupe who did the shows of the "starlight" and the
"artistic human-body bird's nest" at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games,
the performers this time are also servicemen from the same "Red Army First
Division" except that this time they are the second performance troupe.
They came all the way from their stationed area far away from Beijing to
take part in the rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Paralympics.
The leader of the performance troupe Wang Hequan told the reporters that
the "star-men" performance troupe of 1,800 officers and men had fulfilled their
historic mission with flying colors, and had returned back to the barracks. Some
of them would leave the barracks to participate in military trainings. After
watching the excellent performance of those "star-men" at the opening ceremony
of the Olympic Games, the servicemen taking part in the rehearsal for the
opening ceremony of the Paralympics were burning with ardor in training and
vowed to learn from the "star-men" and try their best to do credit to the
Olympic Games and win honors for the military banner at the opening ceremony of
the Paralympics.
August 14 marks the second day of the arrival of the performance troupe in
Beijing. The officers and men wasted no time to go to a training base of the
Armed Police Force and threw themselves into intense training. On the training
site, private He Jianhua said with full of confidence: "We are all soldiers of
the 'Red Army First Division', so we will also present the world with a
spectacular show as what the 'star-men' did."
