Chinese president appoints new ambassadors

  BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao has appointed 10 new ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

  Li Beifen was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, replacing Liu Yuhe.

  Zhang Yuanyuan was appointed ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, replacing Zhang Qiyue.

  Zhang Qiyue was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, replacing Lan Lijun.

  Chang Yi was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Iraq, replacing Chen Xiaodong.

  Qiu Shaofang was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone, replacing Cheng Wenju.

  Cheng Wenju was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Latvia, replacing Zhang Limin.

  Wei Jinghua was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, replacing Li Guobang.

  Ma Chongren was appointed ambassador to the Independent State of Samoa, replacing Shi Longzhuang.

  Shi Longzhuang was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, replacing Gong Jianwei.

  Zhang Limin was appointed ambassador to New Zealand and the Cook Islands, replacing Zhang Yuanyuan. The former was also appointed ambassador to the Island of Niue.
