ISLAMABAD, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- A farewell guard of honor has been held here
at the President's House on Monday for outgoing President Pervez Musharraf,
according to local TV channel Express News.
Musharraf on Monday announced he would resign as Pakistani president, one
day before the ruling coalition was expected to table his "charge sheet" in
National Assembly.
Musharraf met with army officers, navy and air force officers at the
President's House following his announcement to resign, according to Express
News.
Musharraf left the President's House and removed the national flag from his
car, the Express News report said, adding that he would live in his camp office
in Rawalpindi for several days.
The PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) announced on Aug. 7 that
they would initiate proceedings to impeach Musharraf.
