BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie
pledged here on Monday the Chinese armed forces would strengthen cooperation
with the Bulgarian military to raise ties.
Liang, also a state councilor, made the remarks in a meeting with his
Bulgarian counterpart Nikolay Tsonev.
He called on the Chinese and Bulgarian armed forces to make joint efforts
in contributions to safeguarding world peace and stability.

He hoped the two sides would continue to strengthen friendly exchanges in
various fields, such as training.
He reiterated Bulgaria's adherence to the one-China policy, saying the
Bulgarian government considered Taiwan and Tibet as inalienable parts of the
Chinese territory.
