In early August, a type of water-based electromagnetic screen paint
developed by a research institute of the Logistics Department of the PLA Navy
was applied in reforming the electromagnetic shielding of a confidential room in
a Shanghai-based unit of the PLA Navy. It has been proved that the paint can
basically stop the leakage of electromagnetic waves emitted by the commonly used
office equipment such as computer, printer and copier as well as mobile phone in
a shielded room, thus it is of great significance to ensuring the security of
electromagnetic information communication in a building.
The type of electromagnetic screen paint has such an excellent shielding
performance that it is suitable for various buildings such as operation command
center, computer and precision instrument room and communication center. It is
tested and confirmed by the PLA Information Security Detecting and Certification
Center that the paint has a sound performance of being capable of shielding
against 99.99% of the common electromagnetic wave, hence enjoying the advanced
level in China.
The briefing has it that the paint can both improve the effect of stopping
the leakage of electromagnetic information from important buildings and cut off
the jamming of external electromagnetic waves. Compared with traditional metal
shielding equipment, the paint can be easily sprayed, coated, brushed on and
scraped off the internal surface of plastic housings in different shapes.
