Nepali newly-elected Prime Minister to take oath Monday

  KATHMANDU, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Prachanda, the newly-elected Nepali prime minster, will take oath on Monday, local leading news website THT Online reported on Saturday.

  Secretary of the Presidential Office Ramhari Aryal handed over President Ram Baran Yadav's congratulatory message and invitation for swearing in to Prachanda at the latter's residence on Saturday.

  Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav congratulated Prachanda on his election to the post of Prime Minister by the legislative session of the Constituent Assembly.

  President Yadav invited Prachanda to the Presidential Office in Shital Niwal in capital Kathmandu, at 03:00 p.m. local time on Monday to take the oath.

  Prachanda, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M), was elected the first prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal by the Constituent Assembly (CA) on Friday evening.
