While meeting the representatives of the PLA attending the camp training
according to the Outline of Military Training and Evaluation on July
29, Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and
vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed that the new century
and the new period raised higher standards and requirements for the PLA in
carrying out historical missions, and for that matter, military training is
confronting arduous tasks. Therefore, the PLA should devote more efforts to
conducting IT-based military trainings to continuously uplift the capability of
the troops in carrying out missions and tasks.
Chen Bingde, member of the Central Military Commission and chief of general
staff of the PLA, was present at the meeting as well.
Guo Boxiong emphasized that the new outline is promulgated, the tasks are
clearly defined, the standard of combat effectiveness should be upheld, strict,
scientific, regular and down-to-earth manner should be observed in training, and
the number of people, time, content and quality should be guaranteed for the
training.
Ge Zhenfeng, Zhang Li, Liu Zhenwu, Yang Zhiqi, Chen Xiaogong, Liu Zhenqi,
Li Maifu, Han Yanlin and Wang Guanzhong, leaders from the four general
headquarters/departments of the PLA and the General Office of the Central
Military Commission, also attended the meeting.
