The 12th Meeting of the National Defense Mobilization Committee of the Nanjing Military Area Command was held in Nanjing over July 25-26. Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission, state councilor and minister of national defense, attended and addressed the meeting. He laid stress on that the PLA should enhance the building of national defense mobilization under new situations, take the road of military-civil integrated development with Chinese characteristics, and boost the building of national defense mobilization in a better and faster way.

　　He listened to the reports on the national defense mobilization work of the Nanjing Military Area Command and the six provinces (cities) in East China, watched a video film about the achievements on the national defense mobilization of the six provinces (cities) and the new-type weapons and equipment of the air force, and viewed the demonstration of some new-type weapons and equipment of the army and the report-back demonstration of the application of the infantry battalion affiliated weapons. Liang Guanglie spoke positively of the achievements of the building of the national defense mobilization of the Nanjing war theater.

　　Zhang Li, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA and secretary general of the National Defense Mobilization Committee of the People's Republic of China, Zhao Keshi, commander of the Nanjing Military Area Command, Chen Guoling, political commissar of the Nanjing Military Area Command, and the leading officials of the six provinces (cities) in East China attended the meeting as well.
