Li Jinai urges to create new prospects for military cultural and art work

  Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA addressed the symposium on the cultural and art work of the PLA on July 25 and stressed that the PLA should make active efforts to get adapted to the new situation and new tasks, attach importance to the cultural and art work in the PLA, and constantly create new prospects for the military cultural and art work.

  Li Jinai noted that the PLA should stick to the right orientation in doing military cultural and art work, forge a core value for modern servicemen and unswervingly serve the servicemen and the enhancement of the combat effectiveness.

  Li Jinai pointed out that it was a must to fulfill the task of offering high-level artistic performance in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Paralympics Games, win honor for China, add honor to China's successful hosting of the Olympic Games, and add glory to the military flag with concrete actions, so as to leave a brilliant and proud side of the life on the historic stage of serving the Party and people.

  The Circular concerning the establishment of the "PLA Arts and Calligraphy Research Institute" of the General Political Department of the PLA was read out at the symposium.

  Liu Yongzhi, deputy director of the General Political Department of the PLA, and assistant director Du Jincai of the General Political Department of the PLA, were present as well.
