Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the 2008 Summer Graduation Ceremony of the National Defense University (NDU) on July 23, warmly congratulated all the graduates and extended sincere greetings to the whole faculty who had been working hard for cultivating competent personnel for the PLA on behalf of Chairman Hu Jintao and other leaders of the Central Military Commission. He urged all graduates to carry forward the great spirit of the earthquake rescue and relief, and play the parts as the nucleus and mainstays in the army building and the preparation for military struggles with new mental outlook, new altitude and new standards, so as to make constant and greater contributions.

　　At the graduation ceremony, Xu Caihou awarded diplomas to the graduates.

　　In addition, Ma Xiaotian, Liu Yongzhi, Ding Jiye, Han Yanlin, Wang Xibin and Tong Shiping from the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA, the National Defense University, and the General Office of the Central Military Commission were present at the graduation ceremony as well.
