While making inspection and offering guidance to the work in the quake devastated areas in Sichuan Province on July 23, Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, stressed that all the logistics departments of the PLA should resolutely carry out the decisions and arrangement made by Chairman Hu Jintao and the Central Military Commission, devote efforts in providing good logistics service to the troops designated to return to their barracks and those who will stay for more work in the quake-struck areas, help the quake-affected troops to rebuild in a planned and step by step manner, actively round off their work of helping the quake-hit areas in their reconstruction, and fulfill with high standards and good quality the various follow-up support tasks in the spirit of the earthquake rescue and relief.

Liao Xilong noted that in line with the decision made by the Central Military Commission, the relevant major units participating in the earthquake rescue and relief operation would build eight secondary schools and one rehabilitation center in the quake-hit areas. Therefore, these units should make an overall plan in a scientific manner, pay attention to the quality of construction, and strive to complete the task on schedule. All the logistics departments of the PLA should translate the great spirit of the earthquake rescue and relief into actual deeds in putting in practice various work, so as to make new contributions for the Party and the people.
