Xu Caihou stresses to make new contributions for Party and people

  Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), entrusted by CMC Chairman Hu Jintao, recently visited and conveyed greetings to the troops involved in quake rescue and relief operation in Sichuan, and saw off the officers and men who were about to return back to their barracks. When addressing a talk to the troops, Xu Caihou noted that the PLA should unswervingly carry out the decisions and instructions by the CPC Central Committee, the Central Military Commission and Chairman Hu Jintao, vigorously promote the great spirit of the earthquake rescue and relief, and widely unfold activities to learn from the "heroic Army Aviation regiment of earthquake rescue and relief" and Wu Wenbin, the "heroic fighter of earthquake rescue and relief", so as to inspire all the officers and men to retain a high morale and make new contributions for the Party and the people.

  Xu Caihou visited the officers and men of the PLA and the Armed Police Force who had been fighting in the frontline of the earthquake rescue and relief operation for two months in Dujiangyan, Mianzhu, Shifang and Deyang.

  Yang Zhiqi, Jia Ting'an, Li Maifu, Li Andong, Li Shiming, Zhang Haiyang, Fan Changlong and Liu Dongdong from the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA, the Joint Earthquake Rescue and Relief Headquarters of the Chengdu Military Area Command, the Jinan Military Area Command and the General Office of the Central Military Commission visited the officers and men together with Xu Caihou.
