Since the China's Special Art Exhibition themed Heartfelt Care for
Wenchuan was opened to the public three days ago, it has evoked resounding
repercussions in all walks of life and attracted nearly 60,000 visitors. Xu
Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice
chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the exhibition held in the
Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on June 24.
Jointly sponsored by China Artists Association and the Publicity Department
of the General Political Department of the PLA, the exhibition faithfully
recorded and recaptured the magnificent and soul-stirring scenes showing the
Chinese armed forces and civilians working strenuously for a successful
operation of quake rescue and relief. Some spectators left their comments saying
that visiting the exhibition is not only an education in the general sense, but
also a chance of subliming their spirit; Looking at the works will enable them
to see the great strength of the solidarity between the army and the civilians.
During the visit, Xu Caihou first conveyed his greetings and thanks to the
artists for their assiduous work in the creation of these works on the quake
rescue and relief efforts. He then praised the artists for creating such a great
number of soul-touching and inspiring art works with their passionate brushes,
and encouraged them to continue to go to the frontline of quake rescue and
relief operation and plunge into the thick of life in the quake stuck areas to
produce more masterpieces.
