Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission, leader of the Leading Group of Military Resources Conservation of the PLA and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, pointed out at the first meeting of the Leading Group of Military Resources Conservation of the PLA yesterday that it was a must to understand fully the importance of military resources conservation, resolutely align our thinking and action with the decision and plan made by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the Central Military Commission and Chairman Hu Jintao, vigorously meet the requirements of innovative development of resources conservation nationwide, strengthen the management, leadership and guidance with earnest efforts, make great efforts to achieve breakthroughs in the important fields and key links of the military resources conservation, ensure the fulfillment of various duties, and play an exemplary role for the entire society.

　　With the approval of the Central Military Commission, the Leading Group of Military Resources Conservation of the PLA was formally established in February this year.

　　Issues like the Arrangement of the Military Resources Conservation of the PLA in 2008 were reviewed at the meeting. Liu Zhenwu, deputy chief of general staff, Liu Yongzhi, deputy director of the General Political Department, Wang Qian, deputy director of the General Logistics Department, and Han Yanlin, deputy director of the General Armaments Department of the PLA were present at the meeting.
