At the 28th Plenary Session of the PLA Patriotic Public Health Campaign Committee, Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission, head of the PLA Patriotic Public Health Campaign Committee, and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, stressed that during carrying out the work of patriotic public health campaign, the army should stick to ensuring the health and safety of officers and men, focusing on uplifting troops' combat effectiveness, vigorously beefing up civilization and health construction, intensifying the monitoring of health and safety, improving the quality of environmental sanitation, all-round raising the troop's capability of disease prevention and overall level of health, and offering service and support for successfully fulfilling all kinds of work centering on the preparation of military struggles.

　　Liao Xilong also stressed that military health work directly serves the uplifting of troops' combat effectiveness. Therefore, the army should all-roundly popularize the knowledge of healthcare and disease prevention at wartime, do a good job in sanitation monitoring and disease prevention during major military actions such as military exercises and field operation trainings, and improve the support preplan of healthcare and disease prevention and the measures for dealing with unexpected events of public health, thus effectively preventing various epidemics from affecting the normal order and combat readiness of the troops.
