Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, stressed on Jan.12 at the conference attended by commandants of academies and schools under the General Logistics Department of the PLA that all academies and schools under the General Logistics Department of the PLA should implement Chairman Hu Jintao's important instructions in an all-round way, study and implement the essence of the 17th National Congress of the CPC, firmly grasp the correct orientation of school-running in view of fulfilling the historical mission of the PLA in the new century and the new period to constantly enhance the capability of independent innovation in teaching and scientific research, and provide powerful support of talents and brains for building modern logistics in an all-round way.

　　Liao Xilong emphasized that it is imperative to make efforts to cultivate high-caliber and new-type talents in military logistics, always stick to the important guiding principles of the scientific outlook on development, constantly enhance the capability of independent innovation in teaching and scientific research, stick to having in mind the new demands of the new tasks in the new situation during the all-round construction of modern logistics and further improve the training mode of talents of various levels. Meanwhile, It is a must to elevate the quality and level of the regularization construction, constantly upgrade the management according to the law and the scientific management and blaze a new trail to school-running featuring low investment and good economic returns.
